"I love my family, soccer, and traveling. I am fortunate I can combine all 3 and live a happy life while I pursue my passions and joy with BC Fire. Soccer is something I've been involved since childhood -the days where my world was about kicking the ball around and playing for the joy if it.
Over the years, I have developed a passion for coaching and I've learned the value of excellent education. Therefore, I started the never-ending journey of becoming a teacher and helping form those who will one day lead us.
As a current resident of Calhoun County, I see a world of endless possibilities for soccer and youth in this area. I believe in unity, and I believe in being great -two things I hope to transmit to the club, the community, and the families we serve
Mardie Bays
Mardie Bays - YDL Director & Women's Director of Coaching
Coach Mardie has been active in the game of soccer since 1984. A Massachusetts native, she was a high-school standout striker in the Boston area, playing at the club level and in the Olympic Development Program (ODP). She played Division 1 at University of Vermont, earning a starting position as a freshman before an ankle injury sidelined her for the balance of the season. Mardie finished her competitive playing career at UVM, ultimately captaining the team and graduating with honors from the school of business.
Prior to relocating to the Midwest, Mardie coached and directed camps and clinics for many years with the English-owned PlaySoccer Company on the Harvard University campus and in surrounding communities.
Mardie entered a career in Marketing in 2001 and has gone on to leadership positions at creative agencies that impact global brands; many in the sports and lifestyle sector – Titleist, ASICS and Nike to name a few. Today she is VP of Client Services for SGK. Mardie received a Masters in Communications from Michigan State University in 2008.
Mardie credits her involvement in sport for giving her the foundations for her business success and life achievements – building teams based on trust, hard work and risk taking. Mardie tells her players the difference between a good team and a great team is that great teams score goals.
Here in southwest Michigan, Mardie has played in adult leagues, coached at the recreation level since 2012 and has been a staff coach with BC Fire since 2021. Mardie has 2 daughters and a son and lives in the village of Ceresco, MI on the Kalamazoo River.
